Delivery & Installation of Your Prebuilt Storage Shed
At Amish Sheds Direct, we make getting your new Amish-crafted storage shed from our lot to your backyard as seamless and stress-free as possible. Our professional delivery team handles everything—free of charge within our service areas—using state-of-the-art equipment to minimize yard damage and ensure precise placement. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of the process, so you know exactly what to expect on delivery day.
Installed in as little as 60 minutes
arrival
Your shed arrives on a specialized tilt-bed trailer pulled by a delivery truck, typically scheduled 3–4 days in advance to fit your availability. We stage the truck and trailer on your street or driveway, avoiding any drive-over your lawn. Before we begin, our team confirms site access: a clear path at least 1–2 feet wider than your shed on each side, free of low-hanging wires, branches, fences, or obstacles. If your yard has steep slopes (up to 15°), we’ll review photos or a quick video beforehand to confirm feasibility. Delivery usually takes 30–60 minutes total.
Unloading Off the Trailer
Once staged, the hydraulic trailer tilts at an angle, allowing the fully assembled shed to slide gently off the back onto the ground or temporary supports. All pre-built sheds are delivered intact and ready to use immediately. If access is limited, we transition seamlessly to our Mule for the next step, working hard to minimize ruts or tears in your yard.
Wheeling It Into Place Using a Mule
For most deliveries, we deploy the “Mule”—a compact, remote-controlled or ride-on shed mover that’s a game-changer for backyards. This handcrafted machine hooks securely to the shed’s gable end, with heavy-duty dolly wheels supporting the opposite side. Our operator then guides it along your cleared path to the exact spot, navigating turns, hills, or narrow gates with precision. It’s ideal for positioning the shed exactly where you want it. While the mule helps us navigate tight spaces we always ask for an extra foot in open space on each side of the shed.
Leveling the Building If Needed
Precision placement is our promise. We position the shed on your prepared gravel pad or foundation (we recommend a 4–6 inch level base of 3/4″ crushed stone, 1 foot larger than the shed). Our team checks for level using built-in tools. We do offer leveling kits which include concrete blocks and pressure-treated shims (up to 8–12 inches) for an additional charge. Once level we test doors/windows, and perform a final walkthrough with you. Your shed is ready to load up right away!
